Autumn Festival Nainital

Autumn Festival Nainital or Shardotsav is a major festival organized in Nainital every year. The fair is marked by the presentation of folk dances, folk arts and various other cultural programs. Thousands of people including foreigners gather to witness the local culture and traditions.

The four-day gala, meant to celebrate the indigenous culture and tradition of the hill state, will continue on and from November 5 till November 8. A three-day boat racing festival will be organized by the Nainital Yach Club as a precursor to the event. The competition will see different state teams aside from local as well as Army and Navy crews battling it out for the prestigious Governor’s Cup.

Waters sports, photography competitions, cultural programmes, musical nights, mushaira, etc will also be held as part of the festival. Visitors will also be treated to traditional Garhwali and Kumaoni cuisine at the event.
